It is a ride most cycling enthusiasts will enjoy heartily as we ride on asphalt roads as well as some packed hard gravel. With some elevation challenges, some may enjoy having an e-bike as your choice, while others can saddle up with a hybrid or gravel road bike.Pick up and drop off will be in the Montreal downtown and airport areas. Newfoundland has given the world many firsts: It was here that Marconi received the first transatlantic radio signal; here that Alcock and Brown launched the first transatlantic flight to Paris; here that scientists discovered proof that the continents drift. Geologists are perpetually fascinated with the Tablelands, where the earth’s mantle is forced to the surface by tremendous tectonic pressures, and once you experience this terrain you will be, too. Our Newfoundland bicycle tour is one of our favorites! This is the far east of the western world, where science and beauty collide to provide a land that is both breathtaking and humbling, too. It’s that austere, unspoiled beauty that defines this great place: Enormous lakes — or ponds, as the locals call them — were carved by massive prehistoric glaciers, are surrounded by dramatic cliffs extending 2,000 feet above the water. The rocky coast, explored by Vikings more than 1,000 years ago, the rough wilderness, the ocean, and its sweeping vistas, the world’s friendliest people — this is the Newfoundland that we want you to meet!

Prince Edward Island is affectionately known as The Million Acre Farm, and our routes will have you cycling through a riot of colour: verdant pastures that stretch out to scarlet cliffs, which drop into azure waters. Experience one of Canada’s national treasures: our tiniest province. Known to many as the setting for Anne of Green Gables, this island is made for touring. You will experience red sandstone cliffs, scenic fishing villages and towering sand dunes as you cycle the island from one side to the other. This cycling tour starts in Mill River and winds its way through Malpeque Bay and past the Bay of St. Lawrence, to the most easterly point of the island. On the way, we’ll pass through lovely villages, including Cavendish, North Rustico, Brackley Beach and Stanhope. The tour is designed to appeal to all levels of cyclists. P.E.I.’s highest point is only 400 feet above sea level — beginners don’t have to worry about being unprepared, but there’s still plenty to challenge more experienced cyclists.

You will wind your way through several lovely towns, including Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You’ll never be far from the Atlantic Ocean, still plied by fisherman in brightly painted wooden dories working the nets just as their forebears have for generations. You’ll then cycle your way over to the Evangeline Trail and Annapolis Royal, the town that marks France’s formal colonization of Canada. Amazingly, Samuel de Champlain and Sieur de Monts would find the area little changed from the lovely coastline that they explored and settled more than 400 years ago. This bike tour will appeal to travelers who want to get in a few more miles during the week, and see more of the province while they’re at it. Our Best of Both Coast’s Tour will have you cycling both the Lighthouse Route, along Nova Scotia’s South Shore, and the Evangeline Trail, which runs parallel to the incomparable Bay of Fundy. You’ll start the tour in Hubbards and cycle your way down the South Shore of Nova Scotia before heading over to the Bay of Fundy side of the province where the tides are the world’s highest, rising more than 54 feet (16.5 metres) in the Minas Basin.View the mobile itinerary here! Named after the famous explorer John Cabot (an Italian, Giovanni Caboto, who sailed under an English flag), the Cabot Trail is one of the world’s most beautiful bicycle routes. The Cabot Trail winds through glorious valleys and along an expansive coast as it traverses the Highlands. Pods of whales can be seen just off the coast, while bald eagles soar on the breezes.You will start and finish the tour in Baddeck, the place where Alexander Graham Bell wanted to spend the rest of his life. From there you will cycle clockwise around the trail through the Margaree Valley, Chéticamp, Pleasant Bay and Ingonish.You will have the opportunity to go whale watching, hike the Cape Breton Highlands and relax after an incredible day in the saddle.“I have travelled around the globe.
